Keepin’ It Simple

It is not unusual for simple to become complex and easy to become difficult. It’s the American way of life, right? Unfortunately, I have “overthunk” situations to the point of crazy making when if I had just taken a pause and relaxed into the moment, the easy way would have obviously been the correct solution. Making assumptions that everything must be complicated is my fatal error in too many situations. It’s not necessary to assume that the complex must be the best solution. Why take 15 steps to an answer or resolution when 1 might do the trick? Why try to come up with reasons why something didn’t get done or I let someone down on a project when a simple, I’m sorry or I dropped the ball will be enough. And the simplest solution of all? Possibly, not getting wound up in knots trying to make a situation come to completion when a better method might be breathing into the moment, composing the brain cells into an easy flow and then believing that outcomes will be as they are meant to be will do the trick. Writhing into a mound of anxiety never resolves a situation.
