9/15-10/15 – National Hispanic Heritage Month

Declared in Shttps://www.deborahcoleconnections.comeptember 1989, National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15- October 15) recognizes the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Americans. The celebration month began in 1968 with then-President Lyndon Johnson as a week of observance for Hispanic Americans who have inspired others to achieve success. President Ronald Reagan expanded it in 1988 to cover 30 days. The observance was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.
